TThe world famous Royal St. David’s golf course, one of the finest traditional championship links courses in the world, is just opposite the park entrance.Visitors are assured of a warm welcome at Royal St. David’s. The course is ranked 42nd in the Golf World Top 100 Courses in Great Britain and Ireland and offers the best value Championship links in Europe.

Miles away

The spectacular Italianate village Portmeirion is only 20 minutes drive away. It was the setting for the popular 1960’s TV series The Prisoner. You can also visit the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways - two of the “great little trains of Wales”.

If you like walking and wildlife the area abounds with great walks, including the impressive Roman Steps.

The landscape around Harlech is perfect walking country. Take your pick of the flat coastal strip, with many of the trails along golden sands, or step inland a short way and explore the rolling hills. There are long distance trails from Barmouth in the south to Penrhyndeudraeth in the north, suitable for both walking and cycling - and you may catch sight of the pod of dolphins that live in Cardigan Bay. If you like mountain biking then there are many great trails in the nearby Snowdonia National Park.
